The Still Point

I like these incredibly narrative photos by artist Lucinda Chua.

from Designboom:british photographer lucinda chua calls attention to fragments in photography with her series ‘the still point’.the series is currently on show at bermondsey square in london and will be on view until august 31st. chua explains ‘the photograph is incapable of conveying a moment in its entirety, all it can show is afragment of a narrative’. using this as a base she plays with conventions by making the characters in each photograph appear stuck in the frame and frozen in time. ‘whilst the photograph is still and silent, each tableau is a performance that is pieced together and constructed’. as the viewer examines each piece, there mind fills in the blanks before and after, extending the moment captured in time.

Swedish Image Manipulation

Via Buzzfeed.

Erik Johansson is a Swedish artist who is responsible for some of the most awesome image manipulation out there. Below are some of my favorites. The way he must see the world is astounding. Both absurd and humorous and real all at the same time. Definitely check out his site.

This is so DC...

BoingBoing directed me to Very Short List, which today provides this delicious tidbit from the We Are Supervision Blog (which is very good looking I might add).

Business cards for gangs from Chicago in the late 70's/early 80's.

We took some inspiration from the original gang cards and did a little round of our own, revamped cards...

Roomba-beautiful.

I saw this on a few sites today. Here is the original site. It's a long exposure shot of a Roomba working it's way around a room. Pretty and thorough.

I dig this song, and the video is pretty darn cool.
