Amen.

Who knew the Amen Break was created here in DC? Who says DC hasn't contributed anything to Hip-Hop?

Coolest White House Ever?

DC Hip-Hop

I heard this Wale track last night at the bar. I'm not heavy into the scene, but this might be the front runner for DC Hip-Hop blowing up.

Beatboxing Flautist

Great story from NPR on Greg Patillo, who has fused the flute with beatboxing.

Here's some examples of his stylings.

Brooklyn Goes Hard

I dig this song, and the video is pretty darn cool.

What I'm listening to now...

I've really been digging this album, to the extent that I've had it on non-stop repeat at work lately. My boss gave it to me, so thanks go to AS for the introduction. It is a classic Diplo mashup, focusing on one artist's work (Santogold) and a tour of hip-hop, reggae, dub and rock music from the last 40 years.

Last Sunday it provided the perfect soundtrack for a day lounging on the back patio with neighbors and friends. Sitting, reading, cooking, drinking and listening to music.
